Focus Features has released the final trailer for writer/director/actor Joel Edgerton’s film adaptation Boy Erased head to the cinema this Friday.
Based on Garrard Conley’s memoir, the film stars Lucas Hedges as Jared, the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents (Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe) at age 19. Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a gay conversion therapy program – or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith.
The true story tale deals with one young man’s struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity. Cherry Jones, Xavier Dolan, Joe Alwyn, Troye Sivan and Flea co-star.
