Adventure Time publisher Little Orbit on Monday announced a new brawler game for consoles and PC based on the DreamWorks film franchise Kung Fu Panda.
Called Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends, the game will launch this fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, 3DS, and PC. It’s also coming to last-generation consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Showdown of Legendary Legends is in development at Little Orbit’s Vicious Cycle, which is also working on the new Adventure Time game. According to a press release, the game will offer a “fresh and fist-pumping” take on the film franchise, featuring multiple modes, including Tutorial, Practice, and Tournament of Legends for single-player. Multiplayer modes, meanwhile, include Versus, Team Play, and Tag-Team. All multiplayer modes will support offline and online play.
What’s more, numerous locations (see the embedded screenshots) and 20 characters from the Kung Fu Panda movies will also appear in Showdown of Legendary Legends.
Little Orbit CEO Matt Scott further explained that, like the various Kung Fu Panda films, the new game will have a humorous element to it as well.
At release this fall, Showdown of Legendary legends will feature characters from the first two Kung Fu Panda movies. And after the release of Kung Fu Panda 3–which is currently slated to arrive in January 2016–the game will introduce “film-specific” content based on the movie.
