Jurassic World and The Help star Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast as Elton John’s mother in the Rocketman biopic at Paramount Pictures.
The story will focus on Elton’s beginnings as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music and carrying over to when he reached global stardom through his influential and enduring musical partnership with songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin.
Taron Egerton is playing Elton, Jamie Bell is Taupin and Richard Madden is set as music manager John Reid in the film which Dexter Fletcher (Eddie The Eagle, Bohemian Rhapsody) is helming from a script by Lee Hall.
Matthew Vaughn and David Furnish are producing the film which premieres May 17th 2019.
