Canon has revealed the PowerShot G12. It has Hybrid IS advanced stabilization as well as the multi-shot high dynamic range mode. For the first time, a G series camera shoots HD and here records in the S95’s 720P with HDMI output.
A 10-megapixel low light sensor acts as the core of the camera. The G12 still has the familiar swiveling LCD and 5X (28-140mm) f2.8-4.5 lens. Dedicated dials for exposure and ISO are still intact, as is an optical viewfinder and a hot shoe, and a 2.7-inch swivelling LCD is unchanged from the G11.
Canon anticipates shipping the G12 in early October for $499.
