Google has revealed a new toolchain that developers can use to port their Chrome desktop apps to both the Android and iOS platforms.
According to Google, the tool uses Apache Cordova (open-source web technologies) to create a software wrapper that packages Chrome apps in a format that can be used on mobile devices. The tool includes a number of the standard Chrome APIs, which means developers can offer fully-functional versions of their Chrome apps through the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store.
Google is offering the tool as a preview to developers and provides instructions via the Chromium developer site.
