Clear today shipped its Clear Modem with Wi-Fi. The unit allows users link their Wi-Fi devices to Clear’s 4G network for an area like a home or office, offering wireless download speeds of between 3 and 6Mbps. Local connections are shared over 802.11n Wi-Fi, although Clear hasn’t said how many devices can sign on at the same time.
The modem is also compatible with Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista 32/64, Windows 7 32/64 and Mac OS 8 or newer. The device is now shipping, priced at $120 or leased for $7 per month. Unlimited data service costs $35 per month. Unlimited local and long distance calling over VoIP can be added for $15 per month.
