American Crime is putting Connor Jessup through the emotional wringer again.
The actor, who gave a tour de force performance as a teenager grappling with his sexuality in the ABC drama’s second season, will return for Season 3, the network announced Wednesday.
“Connor Jessup is one of the smartest and most talented young actors working today,” said executive producer Michael McDonald. “[Series creator] John [Ridley] and I believe Connor’s performance will be even more emotionally shocking than last year as his character helps shed new light on the opiate addiction epidemic that is plaguing America.”
Ridley previously revealed that the North Carolina-set third season would delve into “labor issues, economic divides and individual rights.”
Jessup is the latest American Crime alum to commit to Season 3, joining fellow franchise vets Timothy Hutton, Felicity Huffman, Regina King, Lili Taylor and Richard Cabral.
