Comedy Central has released the official Crank Yankers Season 5 trailer after reviving the series from the show’s original creators Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla, and Daniel Kellison.
The cable comedy network said the show would be updated for our new, digital-friendly culture, featuring “the world’s favorite profane puppets will be pranking on phones, social media, e-sport platforms and any venue where trouble can be made.”
Jonathan Kimmel serves as showrunner and executive producer, joined by executive producers/creators Kimmel, Carolla, and Kellison. It’ll be the first project for Jimmy Kimmel’s new production banner, Kimmelot.
“Crank Yankers has always been my favorite show to make. Nothing is more fun or makes me laugh harder than a great crank call and I am thrilled that Comedy Central asked us to do it again,” said Jimmy Kimmel. “At this time, I would like to ask all Americans to disable their caller ID. Thank you.”
The original series ran on Comedy Central from 2002 to early 2007, when it was briefly moved to MTV2 before being taken off the air
The fifth season of Crank Yankers premieres on September 25!
