Variety reports DreamWorks Animation is in final talks to bring the Plaid Hat tabletop game Mice and Mystics to the big screen.
The game, created by Jerry Hawthorne, is a role-playing adventure following players loyal to the king who are imprisoned in a seaside castle and turned into mice by the evil Vanestra. They must fight their way out of the castle as they face dangerous foes including rats, cockroaches, spiders and the castle’s house cat, Brodie.

Vertigo’s prior credits include The Departed starring Leonardo DiCaprio, The Lego Movie starring Chris Pratt, The Voices starring Ryan Reynolds and It starring Bill Skarsgard.
