Roku has done a great business by having TV manufactures like Hisense, Insignia, and TCL building in Roku media streamer in the set. Now it look like Amazon wants a cut of that action.
Element Electronics will be building new smart TV’s using Amazon Fire TV tech. The Amazon Fire TV Edition smart TVs will have the features of an Amazon Fire TV built right in.
The new Element models are 4K TVs packing 3GB of memory and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via an SD card or USB drive. It is worth noting Amazon Fire TV, which has 2GB of memory and 8GB of storage The 1080p-only Fire TV Stick only has 1GB of memory. The TVs are powered by quad-core CPU/GPU chipset, what silicon being used is unknown at this time.
Alexa voice assistant can be used Element Amazon Fire TVs. Each TV comes with a Voice Remote with Amazon Alexa, a remote control similar to the Fire TV devices’ voice remotes with additional buttons for controlling the functions of the TV itself.
So far only Element has stuck a deal to use Amazon Fire TV tech.
