France’s EviGroup has just unveiled its latest device, the 10-inch PadPro. It uses an optional PixelQi ultra-bright display that is viewable in sunlight and is pressure-sensitive. This last feature makes it suitable for graphics artists who draw images free-hand, using the included stylus.
The hardware specs include a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive preloaded with Windows 7. To match that fully-featured OS, buyers will also get three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, multi-format memory card slot, and an Ethernet port.
There is otherwise Wi-Fi onboard, along with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. A user-removable battery and an included cover for the tablet round out the major features.
The tablet is now shipping, with prices starting at €600 (just over $800).
