FCC Commissioners Ajit Pai and Mike O’Reilly, both Republicans, today asked the FCC to delay its planned vote on net neutrality rules.
The FCC is widely expected to vote on the proposed rules at its open meeting scheduled for Feb. 24. Pai and O’Reilly want the FCC to release the rules immediately and give the American public and policy makers a period of at least 30 days to offer feedback before proceeding with the vote.
Pai has objected strongly to Chairman Tom Wheeler’s proposal, which will see the agency seek to reclassify broadband under Title II.
