Ford plans to stop production of its all-electric F-150 Lightning from from Nov. 18 until Jan. 6. This windows includes a previously planned holiday downtime.
This seven-week shutdown of Ford’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan has the goal of making a correction in output to match sales growth and maintain profitability goals for the truck line.
Around 730 hourly workers at the plant will be placed on temporary layoff. Ford said not all of the workers will be laid off for the entire duration of the downtime.
