kabaneriThe Fuji TV network will stream episodes of its upcoming “Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress” anime series on Amazon Prime Video, starting on April 7.

This new show, produced by Fuji and scheduled for its popular ‘Noitamina’ late-night anime block, will be offered exclusively on the Amazon streaming service before being broadcast on terrestrial TV, with English subtitles for foreign viewers. Fans will also be able to buy show-related merchandise on the Amazon site.

While other shows have not yet been confirmed, Fuji plans to offer other shows from ‘Noitamina,’ which aims to appeal to viewers beyond core male anime fans. Fuji signed a similar streaming deal with Netflix last year and in February began beaming a Fuji-produced drama on the service.

As ad revenues from terrestrial channels continue to slide, Fuji TV and other Japanese networks are trying to generate new income streams, with Internet streaming a prime focus.
