Fujifilm used CES to launch what it is calling the first weather-resistant bridge camera in the world. The FinePix S1 houses a 16.4-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 50x super zoom 24mm F2.8-1200mm F5.6 lens, stretched further by a 2x Intelligent Digital Zoom to 100x magnification, with the company claiming it to also be protected from splashes, rain, and dust.

Offering an ISO range of between 100 and 12,800, the FinePix S1 includes a five-axis optical image stabilization system, 1080p video recording, a maximum autofocus speed of 0.14 seconds, and a burst mode of up to 10 frames per second, as well as an assortment of artistic filters and shooting modes. On the back is a three-inch hinged LCD screen accompanied by a 920K-dot electronic viewfinder, while its Wi-Fi connectivity allows it to transfer images to other devices or to use a smartphone or tablet as a remote using its dedicated app.

Fujifilm will be shipping the FinePix S1 in March, priced at $500.
