General Motors‘ mobility brand Maven is ending operations in several major U.S. markets.
Maven will exit in New York, Chicago and other US markets.
Maven car-sharing will remain in Detroit and Los Angeles.
In some markets, the firm will keep car-sharing services available for consumers while closing down Maven Gig. Maven Gig is a short-term leasing serivce for vehicles used in ride-shraring or delivery services. In other markets, both parts of the business will shutdown.
Maven car-sharing is available in 12 cities, Maven Gig is available in 10.
Back in March of 2018, Maven partnered with the city of Austin, Texas in deploying an all-electric shared use fleet of Bolt EVs.
