HBO may be considering offering a prepaid discount for its standalone streaming service.
According to a survey received by Cut Cable Today, HBO Now asked users unsubscribing after the free trial if discounted subscriptions would have made them stay. The options listed in the survey include three months for $30, six months for $60, or a full year of service for $100 up front.
While the three and six-month options bring the service cost down from $15 per month to an equivalent of $10, the full year effectively prices the service at just over $8 per month. It is noted that, while these figures appear in a HBO survey, the service could well choose to offer a different discount, if it decides to offer a discount at all.
