Honeywell has introduced its first rugged enterprise hybrid phone, the Dolphin 70e Black. It sports a 4.3-inch, capacitive touchcscreen that is viewable in direct sunlight and is IP67-rated for resistance to water and dust. It also has what most consumer handsets lack in the form of an enterprise-class, area-imaging scanner.
The battery life is rated at up to 12 hours and the battery can be replaced by the users. The handset weighs 7 ounces and measuring three quarters of an inch thick.
The device will be available for purchase starting in February, though not to the general public so pricing is unspecified. Buyers will get a choice of a version of Windows or Android operating systems.
