The 4G version of the HP TouchPad has gone up for pre-orderat Amazon. The 4G plus Wi-Fi 32GB is listed at $700. Like its Wi-Fi-only stable mates it centers on a 7-inch display, runs webOS 3.0 and incorporates Beats audio. It does, however, run a faster 1.5GHz dual-core processor versus the Wi-Fi-only models, which run a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
The Wi-Fi-only models also continue to be on sale on HP’s website. While those models were reduced by $100 over the weekend, they continue to be discounted by $50 off their launch price through to September 8.
Staples also offered a special deal, matching HP’s discount taking a further $100 off its price. Sensing that the sudden price drop might annoy early adopters, HP has also offered a $50 App Catalog voucher to users who purchased a TouchPad between June 1 and August 4.
