HP has tried to reward early adopters of its HP TouchPad by offering users a $50 App Catalog credit. The webOS tablet is currently discounted by up to $200 between August 5 and 7 as the company seeks to gain sales traction. HP is offering a $100 instant discount on the tablet, which Staples has also matched over this weekend bringing the cost of the tablet down to $300 for the 16GB model and $400 for the 32GB model.
The $50 App Catalog credit is available to anyone who purchased a TouchPad between July 1 and August 4. Users have been told to look out for an e-mail over the next week with further details on how to take advantage of the offer.
The rebate is in addition to the $50 rebate that users of the TouchPad may have received for 32GB models purchased between July 01 and July 31.
Users who are eligible for the $50 App Catalog credit will have until December 31 to use the credit at which time it will expire.
