HP’s New AIO Photosmart 7520 and Photosmart 6520 Printers Support ePrint and AirPrint

HP has introduced two all-in-one printers with remote printing, each aimed at students going back to school or college. Both the Photosmart 7520 and Photosmart 6520 use HP’s ePrint technology for remotely printing from any web-connected device, Apple’s AirPrint through any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch; as well as printing locally through USB and Wi-Fi.

The 7520 touts a large 4.33-inch gesture-enabled touchscreen that can be used for several apps, including some from Crayola and Scholastic, and for printing web content without connecting to a PC. Five individual inks are used, which are claimed to be fade-resistant and produce prints at up to 600dpi at 14 pages per minute in black, or 10 in color. The flatbed scanner with automatic document feeder can capture images at up to 2,400 dpi.

The 6520 offers similar scanning, copying and printing features as the 7520, although is generally more compact. Printing slows to 12 pages per minute in black, or 8.5 in color; the flatbed scanner loses the feeder, and the touchscreen is a smaller 3.45 inches.

The Photosmart 6520 will go on sale later this month for $150, while the 7520 will be available in early September for $200.
