Hulu has released a major update of Hulu Plus for iOS, v2.5. The update adds compatibility with the third-generation iPad’s Retina display, and also sports a new interface. Hulu has improved AirPlay mirroring and HDMI output. Users must have at least an iPad 2 or an iPhone 4S.
The app in general now supports browsing shows by genre, and uses an overhauled video player with various optimizations. The app is a free download; the Hulu Plus service however costs $8 a month.
