Former Hulu executive Pete Distad has confirmed a new job as VP of product marketing at Apple, reports note. Bloomberg first hinted at the recruitment in July, but the switch was only made official this week through a change in Distad’s LinkedIn status. Before coming to Apple, Distad was Hulu’s senior VP of marketing and distribution.
In its July story, Bloomberg said that Distad was being brought on to negotiate deals with cable and media companies. Apple was thought to be “a few months” away from announcing a deal with Time Warner that would bring shows hosted by the cable provider to the Apple TV. That could be the “television product” rumored to be debuting as soon as November.
