In a quiet move, Apple has revised the pricing for its paid iCloud tiers. These begin at 99 cents per month for 20GB. 200GB is $4 per month, and 500GB is $10 per month. The highest tier, 1TB, costs $20 per month. Now Dropbox’s 1TB tier is $10 per month.
iCloud is expanding in importance this fall thanks to the introduction of iCloud Drive. The feature will allow people to store any kind of file in iCloud, and access it elsewhere via a Mac, PC, or iOS device. At the moment, iCloud can only store app-connected content such as photos or Pages documents. iCloud Drive should go live later this month with the arrival of iOS 8.
