Music and performance accessory maker IK Multimedia is now shipping the iKlip Mini, a universal mic stand adapter intended to support the iPhone and iPod Touch in either landscape or portrait orientations without any tools required. The adapter attaches to mic stands and poles or tripods of .43 to .79 inches in diameter and keeps all buttons and controls on both devices accessible. The holder allows users to use the iOS devices for teleprompter use, photography or video, karaoke, tablature and more.
The iKlip Mini also includes a detachable iRig bracket to allow users of the company’s AmpliTube app and the iRig accessory to have the guitar effects controls within easy reach, or to be able to enable and disable recording, DJing, mixing and other uses. It can also be used with the iRig Mic, a separate accessory microphone that plugs directly into the iPhone for vocal recording using VocaLive or another vocal processing application.
The iKlip Mini sells for $40 directly from the company or through various music and electronic retailers. It’s larger predecessor, the iKlip, performs the same functions but is used with the iPad.
