Sharp today announced that it will bring its glasses-free, auto-stereoscopic display equipped Android-based smartphones to the US in 2011. Two of the phones, the Galapagos 003SH and 005SH were recently introduced in Japan on the Softbank network. Both devices run Android 2.2 and offer 3.8-inch displays at a resolution of 800×400.
The phones included a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, include Wi-Fi 802.11n and assisted GPS. The candy bar form factor 003SH includes a higher spec 9.6-megapixel camera and shoots video at 720p. The slider form factor 005SH includes a full QWERTY keyboard, but at the expense of its camera, which is still a respectable 8-megapixel resolution.
