Epic Games has unveiled its upcoming game for iOS devices, Infinity Blade. The game delivers console-level graphics that were featured in the proof-of-concept demo Epic Citadel which was developed on the Unreal Engine 3 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, and features graphics that are unparalleled in other iOS games so far.
The game, first introduced as “Project Sword” in September, is an example of the Action-RPG genre built from the ground up to be optimized for the iOS touch interface. Set in a fully 3D castle, the game’s single-player mode puts gamers in sword battles and boss fights. As play progresses, players gain experience, build stats and earn more powerful weapons.
Additional content, including a multi-player mode will be released free of charge in planned updates. It is due to arrive this Holiday season.
