Verizon has launched a trade-in program aimed at gaining subscribers from other carriers. Visitors to a new Verizon website can have a phone appraised on several different criteria, including make, model and whether or not voice and the display are still usable. Some of the eligible phones include the iPhone 4, and 8GB versions of the iPhone 3G and 3GS.
Trade-in values for an iPhone can vary greatly. A fully functional iPhone 3G is only worth $36, 16 and 32GB iPhone 4s are each worth about $212. People opting not to donate to charity will get a gift card for the worth of their phone. Verizon also cautions that the condition of a phone must match its description to get the value quoted.
