Iriver has been named named as a 2009 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree for its SPINN MP4 Player and P20 Portable Media player. The winners were announced at a Pre-CES event in New York.
iriver’s SPINN MP4 Player earned the award with distinctive metallic design, 3.3″ AMOLED touch screen and spindle interface. The SPINN System Technology gives the user the ability to control the device through a spindle on the side of the player. With a movement of the thumb, the user can navigate through icons by rotating the spindle and pushing down on it to select options. The roster of capabilities includes video, music, FM radio, picture viewer, voice recording, wireless headset support over Bluetooth 2.0 and more.
The P20 media player boasts a 4.1-inch AMOLED touch screen display, capable of pumping hours of music, video, photos, and FM radio. The device, available in 80G or 120G, is controlled by turning the wheel on the side of the player or touching the screen. It also supports various kinds of raw files and is equipped with a snap-on card reader, so that users can view the pictures on the crisp, clear screen right after they take them.
The 2009 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize innovative consumer electronics products in the industry’s 34 hottest product categories. Winners are chosen by members of the press, independent designers and engineers. The SPINN is now available in the U.S. , and the P20 is expected to launch in 2009.
