The successor to last year’s Pantech Jest will soon arrive at Verizon Wireless, the carrier announced on Tuesday. The Jest 2 has a slide-out hardware QWERTY keyboard and has quad-band GSM support for roaming in more than 200 countries. Web browsing on the 2.4-inch LCD is thanks to the preloaded Opera Mini app.
Users can take advantage of Verizon’s VZ Navigator service for turn-by-turn driving directions. While there is no Wi-Fi onboard, Bluetooth allows for pairing hands-free devices, phonebook access and vCard file transfer. Also integrated is a two-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.
Finally, a microSD memory card slot allows storing data beyond just contact info, with a 3.5mm headset jack accounted for as well.
The Pantech Jest 2 ships on September 29, priced at $80 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract.
