July is looking to be a great month for indie game releases on the Vita, to help out we’ve got a pretty comprehnsive list of new game that you can expect this month.
Mousecraft – 8 July US/9 July Europe
Continuing the trend of placing the word ‘craft’ after a verb or noun, Mousecraft is on its way to many systems, but more importantly for the purposes of this article, the PS Vita. Described as ‘a cross between Tetris and Lemmings,’ Mousecraft is a puzzle game which tasks you with aiding cute little mice through various traps to reach the cheese. The game will also feature Cross-Buy and Cross-Save too.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment – July
Originally released in Japan on 23 April 2014, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is coming to the US and Europe some time in July – a solid release date is not yet known however. Based on a series of novels, the game is an RPG which is set in virtual-reality worlds of the near future. It’s said to have an MMO-style, although it’s not online, and you can recruit over 100 characters to choose from to join you in the game’s dungeons.
Ratchet & Clank Trilogy – 4 July UK/9 July Aus
Did you enjoy the Ratchet and Clank games? Well, now you can relive the experience on PS Vita next month, or even check them out for the first time if you’re new to the series. Originally released on PS3, this collection adds trophies and is remastered in HD.
Entwined – July
Initially released on PS4 during the Sony E3 press conference, Entwined is about two souls, represented by a bird and fish. These souls must be controlled at the same time, and navigated through various ‘lifetimes’ before they can join together for eternity. Sounds like a sweet story, which is actually inspired by an ancient Chinese myth. If you’ve already bought this on PS4, you own it on PS3 and Vita too as it supports Cross-Buy.
Child of Light – 1 July US/2 July UK
Ubisoft’s turn-based RPG is heading to Sony’s handheld. As a young girl called Aurora, you find yourself in a new world called Lemuria. Lemuria’s sun, moon and stars have been stolen by Umbra, the Dark Queen, and your job is to retrieve these celestial bodies. The game uses hand drawn-style animation, which HITC’s Steve Reynolds described as ‘one of the best looking games’ he’s played for a while.
Gravity Crash Ultra – July
Another title with no confirmed release date here, but it has been slated for a July release at least. It was originally released as Gravity Crash for PS3 way back in 2009, and it’s a multidirectional shooter that tips its hat to old school arcade games of the 80s.
Futuridium EP Deluxe – July
Bringing memories of Starwing (Star Fox for those in the US), Futuridium EP Deluxe is another retro-style shooter, which takes you into space as a lost starship pilot. Exclusive levels, modes, enemies and more are included for the Vita version of the game too. It has been set for a July release, but not exact date confirmed as yet.
