While Chloe Moretz signed on to play the title role back in 2010, things have been relatively quiet on the Emily the Strange movie front. The Wrap has reported that Kealan O’Rourke has been brought aboard to rewrite the screenplay. Melissa Wallack provided the previous draft.
Emily the Strange first started as iconic image in 1991 to promote a clothing line from Cosmic Debris. Later it Dark Horse comics developed a back story for her via a series of comics, which have been published since 2001.
Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson is set to produce with Keith Golberg and Rob Reger executive producing.
