On Friday, automaker Kia announced that its 2017 Sorrento and Sportage, along with the 2016 Optima, will now offer the option of CarPlay support.
The Sorrento will have the support as an option for purchase, while the other two will offer CarPlay support built-in when a compatible navigation or UVO3 system is equipped. Customers who have already purchased a Sportage or Optima can download a free software upgrade to enable CarPlay through the UVO website beginning this fall.
Other models eligible for the update will be announced later this year.
