Knoll Systems has announced the new projector that installers and integrators have been waiting for.

The HDP1100 and HDP1200 are the first projectors from Knoll that have truly been built from the ground up by Kevin Knoll himself and the Knoll Systems’ team. These 1080p projectors are pre-tweaked at the factory to Kevin Knoll’s specifications for colorimetry, accuracy, grey scale performance, etc.   Now you can sit up close and watch your favorite movies without any jaggies or bother. These full HD 1080p projectors are designed to delight even the most demanding videophile with brilliant, deep and undeniably rich images.

According to Richard Hanson, Knoll VP Sales and Marketing, “The HDP1000 series projectors have met with high approval -“ from installers who are thrilled with the easy set-up -“ to experienced video enthusiasts who are amazed with the rich, dynamic, detailed picture. The HDP1100 and HDP1200 combine terrific installation flexibility and videophile performance in one compact, sleek package.”

The HDP1100 & HDP1200 boasts a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, is fully DTV compatible, and will accept and display all ATSC HDTV formats including 720p, 1080i and 1080p. The light output is 950 ANSI lumens with a contrast ratio up to 4400:1, The high-speed 7-segment color wheel virtually eliminates “rainbows” and other disturbing motion artifact problems. Combined with the super powerful Knoll signal processing these projectors deliver an image that specs cannot fully describe. Your family and friends can now experience the thrill of top-quality digital theater in your home at any time.

What used to cost hundreds of dollars – full factory calibration -“ has already been accomplished and is therefore included in each Knoll Systems Projector right out of the box. An all-glass Nikon multi-element lens, available in either a short throw (HDP1100) or the Long throw version (HDP1200) will enable the appropriate projector to match up well with any room size.

The installation of these new models is simplified further with the 2-HD lens shift. For unusual installation flexibility, Knoll incorporates both vertical and horizontal adjustments so the projector can be placed up or down and / or right or left of the screen’s center. Most other home theater projectors only offer horizontal lens shift. 2-HD Lens Shift makes projector placement easier, without sacrificing superior video quality. Installation is faster and easier and enables placement of the projector where it is most aesthetically pleasing. HDP1000 Series Projectors include all the best features, packed into one projector!

Most movies are filmed in aspect ratios from 2.35:1 to 2.40:1, (also known as Cinemascope). The HDP1100 & HDP1200 feature built-in scaling support to allow these images to be viewed at the highest possible resolution, called anamorphic. This is at least 30% greater resolution than that of a 1080p plasma or direct view LCD and requires an anamorphic lens, available separately.

Here’s a summary of the HDP1100 and HDP1200’s   specifications and abilities:
