Password management service LastPass has announced a dedicated Mac client. The software saves logins, credit cards, and other data, and has several unique features as a local app. One of these is Quick Search, which speeds up finding logins and any associated notes. Users can also point their default web browser to a site automatically via a keyboard shortcut; LastPass will automatically fill in login fields.
Security Check gauges the strength of passwords, and lets users know if they need a more complex one. Other features include offline access, and while online, automatic sync with the LastPass iOS app.
The new client should become available soon through the Mac App Store. It will be free to download, but ad-supported without an annual subscription. That costs $12 a year, and is also needed for multi-factor authentication and priority support.
