Sprint will soon begin an Upgrade Now trial that will give some of its subscribers the option to buy out the remainder of their contracts in order to upgrade to new hardware early, SprintFeed learned. The trial will only be available at corporate stores, and there are restrictions on who’s eligible. Fees will be determined based on how much time is remaining on a user’s contract, with new two year contracts started as well.
The promo will start on February 2 and end on April 14, and non-eligible subscribers include those with corporate accountes, those in collections, those who upgraded less than eight months prior, Airave and tablet subscribers, as well as iDEN hardware.
The chart below outlines what the Upgrade Fees are, and they range from the standard $36 charge to $165 for those who’ve upgraded between nine and 11 months ago. These fees are in addition to the price of a handset’s upgrade price, however.
