Legend Of ZeldaEiji Aonuma, game producer of “The Legend of Zelda” action-adventure video game has confirmed that the long-awaited version of the game on Wii U is now in the final stages of development and will likely be released in the second half of this year. Aonuma did not directly say the exact release date of the game but in an interview with a Japanese magazine, he said that when they did “Skyward Sword” for the Wii, he was in charge of the characters’ dialogue and in the in-game text at the end stages of development.

He said that now he is working on the text for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, which means that game development is progressing well and that the game would likely be completed soon and released this year, notes News Every Day.

Fans and gamers have been waiting for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U since game developer Nintendo announced it during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2013. The following year at the E3 2014, the Japanese game developer stated that the game will be released to the gaming consoles in 2015.

But the entire 2015 has come and gone and there was no “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U. However, towards the latter part of last year, it seems imminent that the game would finally come out this year, with early 2017 being the latest it could come out in the gaming consoles. As if to appease the fans and gamers for their long wait for the release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, Aonuma also stated that the game will have something new to offer when it comes out.

He said that it will be similar to “Ocarina of Time,” confident that they will give fans a really great game that will be worth all the wait.

In January this year, there were reports that came out saying that the “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is unlikely to be released this year because a new game called “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD” will be released instead on the Nintendo gaming console.

It was widely speculated that the earliest that “The Legend of Zelda” could come out on Wii U is in 2017.

However, it seems that there is a new development that was recently revealed by Nintendo officials who hinted that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will actually come out this year. Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed in a recent interview that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is part of the 2016 roster, despite not being showcased in last year’s E3 2015.

Subsequently, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime reiterated the statement made by Miyamoto that the game will indeed come out this year.

It is almost sure that those pronouncements have excited widely-anticipating fans of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U which is in direct contrast to what they were feeling when previous reports said that the game has been put on the backburner.

It was widely rumored that the delay in the release date of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is because of its ambitious content that Nintendo wants the game to have.
