During the Nintendo Direct briefing today, Nintendo confirmed that a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD edition will launch for Wii U in 2016, which is the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
Besides updated visuals, the game will gain amiibo support, including a brand-new amiibo, based on Link’s wolf transformation. Also, Nintendo teased that your Wolf Link’s amiibo data will somehow link up with the upcoming brand-new Legend of Zelda coming in 2016.
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U was originally slated to launch in 2015. However, it was later delayed to 2016, in part because Nintendo discovered “several new possibilities” that could make Zelda a better game on Wii U. Nintendo has since announced its next game console, the mysterious NX, which is rumored to launch in 2016.
