Leonardo DiCaprio has plans to produce and potentially star in an adaptation of Michael Armour’s forthcoming novel The Road Home. Deadline brings word that Crazy Heart’s Scott Cooper will write and direct the big screen version.
Set during the Great Depression, The Road Home follows a Californian rancher who becomes wrapped up in a murder investigation that the police would rather keep quiet.
DiCaprio recently starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and can soon be seen in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
Cooper, meanwhile, will see his sophomore feature released later this year with Out of the Furnace, starring Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker and Willem Dafoe.
Jennifer Davisson will also produce alongside Cooper and DiCaprio.
