LG has introduced the U560 15.6-inch Windows 8 ultrabook. The device centers on 1080p IPS display for wide viewing angles and better color accuracy.
The addition of the U560 to the LG range means the company now has five notebook series on the market. It will be powered by a third-generation Core i5 3337U ‘Ivy Bridge,’ and like the ultrabook-like rMBP will also incorporate discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics for CAD work, or 3D gaming. However the specific model of the GPU has not yet been listed by LG.
The U560 incorporates both an SSD and HDD combinations designed to help offer a compromise between boot up and shutdown times along with outright storage capacity. Connectivity includes USB 3.0 ports and HDMI out. Unlike the rMBP, the U560 also sports a numeric-only keyboard for business users.
Pricing and North American availability have not been disclosed.
