LG Electronics revealed on Tuesday a Google Play Edition of its LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. Now available on Google Play, this new device will be Google’s first Android Open Source Project (AOSP) tablet and features the latest Android build, version 4.4 “KitKat” (actually v4.4.2 is the latest). The tablet arrives in glossy Indigo Black for $349.99 USD.
The tablet features an 8.3 inch IPS screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution (273 ppi). This screen is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of LPDDR2 memory, and a 4,600 mAh battery.
The tablet also features 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for up to 64 GB of additional storage, dual-band Wireless N and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, a 1.3MP camera on the front, and a 5MP camera on the back. Additional highlights include a brushed aluminum casing, a measurement of 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3 mm, and a weight of 338 grams.
