Liquid-Cooled Vega Frontier Edition Video Starting to Hit the Market

AMD just launched t= the air-cooled Vega Frontier Edition graphics card. Now the liquid-cooled version is now out limited stock.

Now this is not a a pure gaming card. AMD has put in top video card chip tech out only for Pros and the scientific community so far.  AMD launched the Vega Frontier Edition on June 27 at a price tag of $999, which is not priced gamers, but is great price for CAD, pro video,  artificial intelligence and machine learning markets.  AMD said that the water cooled version would ship in Q3. It look like they have beat their goal, at least for a lucky few.

Large companies and research institutions are investing heavily in these two emerging technologies, and $1,000 is a bargain compared to some of Nvidia’s enterprise-class Tesla cards. In fact, AMD is betting that $1,000 is such a bargain that companies won’t balk at a 50% price bump in exchange for better cooling potential, quieter operation, and presumably a higher clock speed. \

Now the new liquid-cooled card features the same core count as the air-cooled variant, and cost $1,490 for it. For the that 50% price increase you get better cooling potential, quieter operation, and , we hope, higher clock speed. AMD has dished he operating frequency of the liquid-cooled version of the Vega Frontier Edition. We do know ht eTDP went up to 375 watts from 300 watts.
