Image Comics is doing a second printing of third issue of Maestros, the darkly irreverent fantasy series from Steve Skroce (We Stand on Guard). So if your shop ran out, you can get it next month.
“I knew it would be good, but I didn’t expect it to be THIS good!” said Patrick Godfrey of Velocity Comics in Richmond, Virginia. “Maestros fires on all cylinders from page one on… I haven’t had as visceral a reaction to reading a debut issue since Saga #1. Easiest hand-sell we’ve had in the shop for years, customers just need to take a quick look to know they want it.”
Ralph DiBernardo, of Jetpack Comics in Las Vegas, added: “When I put Maestros into a customer’s hands, flip open to any page, and tell them Maestros is an über-violent Harry Potter mixed with Doctor Strange and a Grateful Dead concert, it is sold.”
Story Overview
In the series Maestros, protagonist Willy Little has been granted an unlimited and ultimate power by sheer happenstance when his god-like wizard-king father is murdered, along with the rest of the royal family.
With the all-powerful Book of Remaking stolen by cutthroat thieves—and with Willy being the only one who can open it—it’s starting to look like his reign might be a short one.
