Dropbox has released the first Mac version of Mailbox, its gesture-enabled email client, previously limited to iOS and Android. The Mac software is currently only in public beta, and people must sign up to a waiting list in order to gain access. It does however keep all of the iOS app’s features, while adding two more.
The first of these is draft support. Drafts are saved locally, but will eventually sync with mobile devices. Once finished, the sync option will require users to be signed into Dropbox; drafts in any form are still missing from iOS and Android.
Beta participants can also turn on “snooze to desktop.” When using one of the mobile clients, this allows dismissing a message until a person is back at their computer.
