Marvel has a much anticipated slate of shows coming this year, including Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher. A new teaser video builds anticipation that more details are coming at Comic-Con.
Bernthal made quite the first impression in Season two of Daredevil, and many are excited to see him branch out into his own solo series. The teaser includes the caption “One batch, Two batch” which refers to his daughter’s favorite children’s book. It’s also what he says before he takes out his targets, as the loss of his family spurs his brutal take on vigilante justice.
Punisher will feature some carry over from Daredevil season two. That will include a possible meeting with Micro, who was teased at the end of the season but will also feature Daredevil’s Deborah Ann Woll. She will reprise her role as Karen Page, who was the main point of empathy for Frank Castle during Daredevil. It appears she will have a sizable role as well, as Woll is listed for all thirteen episodes of the show. Marvel’s The Punisher is being developed by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.
The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle), Jason R. Moore (Curtis Hoyle), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (David Lieberman), Michael Nathanson (Sam Stein), Jaime Ray Newman (Sarah Lieberman), Amber Rose Revah (Dinah Madani), Paul Schulze (Rawlins), Daniel Webber (Lewis Walcott), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Kobi Frumer (Zach Lieberman), Ripley Sobo (Leo Lieberman), Kelli Barrett (Maria Castle), Ben Barnes (Billy Russo), and Aidan Pierce Brennan (Frank Castle Jr.)
