The Star Wars saga will unfold its next chapter in “Star Wars: Journey to The Force Awakens — Shattered Empire,” a Marvel Comics release due in September
Created in partnership with Lucasfilm, the new Marvel Comics limited series will exist as part of the canon for the Star Wars universe and will offer a glimpse into December’s major cinema event, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
The comic treatment will catch up on circumstances since the fall of the Empire from the conclusion of “Return of the Jedi,” the George Lucas film released in 1983.
“Shattered Empire” was written by comic book legend Greg Rucka (“Cyclops”) with art by Marco Checchetto (“Avengers World”).
“The world has been wondering what happened after the fall of the Empire,” says series editor Jordan D. White. “Now, on the dawn of the next chapter of the saga, we’re incredibly proud to be involved in revealing the events that happen immediately following the end of ‘Return of the Jedi’!”
