Microsoft today confirmed plans to release a version of its Outlook Web App for Android handsets.
Outlook Web App is an email application that offers all the features and functionality of Microsoft’s Exchange ActiveSync technology. Microsoft released a version of OWA for iOS devices last year. This forthcoming OWA for Android is different from the Outlook.com web mail client that Microsoft already offers to Android devices.
Instead, it is a business-class piece of software that will allow mobile professionals to choose an Android device and still benefit from Microsoft’s email service. Microsoft didn’t say when the app will be released.
