Microsoft’s Xbox One controller has been supported by Windows for well over a year now, but only with a USB cable plugged in. If you desired a wireless controller from Microsoft, you’d have to settle for an Xbox 360 for Windows controller with its wireless receiver. In June, the company announced that it would be releasing a wireless receiver for Xbox One controllers, and today it announced that shipments have started.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is compatible with Windows 10 computers and plugs into any available USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. Microsoft said the adapter will allow for the same gaming experience on PC as you find today on Xbox One. Up to eight controllers can be synced to one adapter for multiplayer gaming, and as many as four chat headsets can be used at once. The wireless adapter is also capable of delivering stereo audio to up to two headsets simultaneously. All of which would be handy when using the Game Streaming feature to play Xbox titles on PC.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is shipping to retailers now and will be available in two varieties: A standalone adapter will be available for $24.99, and a bundle package with the adapter and a wireless Xbox One controller will also be available for $79.95. The product will be available for purchase once shipments arrive.
