The Mindy Project isn’t gone yet. A deal has been struck between Hulu and NBC Universal for another 26 episodes of the acclaimed comedy. The order comes after Fox canceled the series last week.
The order makes Mindy Project the latest broadcast network show to be rescued by a streaming company (the same way that Yahoo picked up Community last year).
Yet the order also makes Mindy the only canceled show this season to get so lucky. While a few other titles are still being shopped around (NBC’s Constantine; Fox’s The Following), this season has otherwise seen more than 30 programs shut down.
