Those attending the Minecraft fan convention MineCon in November will have the opportunity to try out the new Xbox 360 Minecraft for themselves.
Microsoft announced during its E3 press conference this year that Xbox 360 would be getting Minecraft as a console exclusive. It’ll be made available through Xbox Live Arcade next spring and features Kinect support for those who don’t wish to use a controller.
Minecraft has been an enormous hit on PC, selling over four million units while in alpha and beta — stages of development where almost any other game would be producing no money whatsoever. It’s essentially a sandbox building game where we’ve seen players construct some amazing things.
In addition to allowing attendees to try out the XBLA version for the first time, they’ll also get a free in-game cloak and the chance to see the final build of the PC game go live (which isn’t to say there won’t be updates release in the future; there will be).
MineCon is set to take place on November 18 and 19 in Las Vegas.
